Access to funding for women founders remains at unacceptable levels, showing us that we must work on finding out why initiatives and knowledge sharing are falling short. Additionally, more firms need to consider ways to support and fast- track women into more senior roles to prevent the loss of talent at the mid-level. It’s a stark reality check that 76% of VC funds do not recognise the importance of developing a D&I strategy, and it’s crucial to note this alongside an ongoing presence of women excluded from decisionmaking. The report provides context to our concerns at Future VC where we’ve helped women enter the industry and want to make sure that talented individuals do not experience a glass ceiling in their progression due to systemic failures.
